You have more than likely been dreaming about this day for years. There are a lot of decisions to be made when planning for your special day. One of your first decisions to be made is finding the perfect venue for your wedding. Not sure how to pick the perfect wedding venue?
First, know your vision. Have you been dreaming of a modern or rustic, outdoor or indoor, maybe a beachfront or mountaintop wedding? Do you have a theme? How many guests do you plan to invite? What is your budget? Where does the venue need to be located? You will need to answer these questions first.
Once you know your vision, you may want to think about talking with a wedding planner. A wedding planner can help you find venues to fit your vision. Or search area venue’s websites because some venues offer wedding planning as part of their wedding packages.
Book tours with multiple wedding venues to see what packages they offer. Some venues are full-service, others are just the venue and you bring everything, while others fall somewhere in between. Know what is included with each venue. Are you going to have to outsource décor, chairs, tables, linens, flatware, catering, bartending, and more? If you have to plan each service for your reception you will have to coordinate several vendors. You will need to ensure they have your wedding date free as well as plan for setup, teardown, and returning of all the items after your wedding. Decide how much you want to plan. Know how much is in your budget.
After visiting a few venues weigh the pros and cons of each venue to decide which one is perfect for your special day. Once you have decided contact them to check if your date is still available and get a quote and a contract. Review both to make sure everything you wanted is included in the quote. Make sure you read the contract including the restrictions carefully, you don’t need surprises on the day of your wedding.
Once you have the venue booked the planning can continue. You have your date and know what else you will need to reserve for your wedding. Click here to download a 12-month wedding planning checklist, to make sure you don’t miss a detail.
